Patrick Watson & The Boise Philharmonic - 7:45 - 9:15p
Music
Montreal, Canada
Patrick Watson is a singer, pianist, composer, and frontman based in Montreal. He invents uncanny musical landscapes, harmoniously mixing organic elements and electronic textures, cacophonic rock songs, and pristine ballads, all held together by his omnipresent voice. The recipients of Canada's Polaris Music Prize in 2007, in addition to JUNO and Polaris nominations, Watson and his band have toured on all continents, occasionally playing with full orchestras to bring the rich music to life. Raised and still living in Montreal, Watson has composed several scores for both film and television. Patrick Watson will be accompanied by the Boise Philharmonic.
Ciudad de Tar - 5:20 - 6:00p
Music
Santiago, Chile
CIUDAD DE TAR is an electronic duo from Santiago, Chile, that blends post-rock with electronica, creating interesting songs with layers of emotion. Marco Avilez established this project in 2019, with a debut EP, ' ALMA,' released in 2020. Today, alongside José Tomás Molina, they form an electronic duo crafting purely instrumental concepts rooted in delicate and hypnotic textural layers of guitars, synthesizers, clarinet, loops, and drum machines. With an audiovisual approach that has garnered nominations for their experimental music videos, the duo seamlessly transitions between ambient, electronic, and post-rock, offering an intimate and atmospheric experience. Together, they have released new singles that will be part of the upcoming album, set to be released through the LeRockPsicophonique label. Ciudad de Tar has participated in significant music festivals in Santiago, such as LEROCKFEST and FERAL. Moreover, the band has headlined Ciclo Modular in both Santiago and Seattle.
LED - 6:20 - 7:00p
Music
Boise, Idaho
LED centers around the multi-instrumentalist/composer Andrew Stensaas. He applauds the challenge of creating in varied disciplines and genres, often mixing them without a recipe, yet finding exceptionally tasty concoctions. With a penchant for melodic vocalization and harmonies, the voice often finds its way to the center of his songs or articulately slips between the cracks. He is joined by some of his favorite musicians, Michael Mitchel, Matt Fabbi, and Jake Freeman, players and creators who are exceptional anywhere you place them on the globe. He and his wife, Lauren Edson, are the directors and co-founders of LED. A performing arts company that weaves movement, original music, captivating stories, and stunning visuals into cinematic experiences. Proudly based in Boise, Idaho, LED is a dance company, a music project, a film studio, and so much more. His artistic contributions have been described as "seamlessly blending nonsensical sounds with music, creating an emotional roller-coaster ride." LED continues to redefine what an artistic encounter can look like and is a significant part of putting Boise on the map as a cultural hub.
