Extend Your Experience at the Stein Luminary

“Founding Fathers” Presented by the Stein Luminary

Curated by Michaela Miller, an art history senior in the School of the Arts at Boise State University

Come explore the history of the beginning of the United States through the Stein Luminary’s Founding Fathers, an interactive exhibition that combines art, history, and technology to bring life to our country’s foundational documents and figures that have shaped the United States. Interact with the beginning of our country beyond the pages of a book and instead step into the looking glass of discovery. From the drafting of the Constitution to the portraits of the Founding Fathers who made it all possible, explore it all here at the Luminary.

What to Expect:
At the heart of our exhibition is a showcase of the key documents that served as the building blocks to our democracy as well as a look at those who were pivotal to the actualization of the United States. Visitors can engage with:

  • The Declaration of Independence – Read about the Declaration of Independence that established the United States as a new nation and the principles of government that the Founding Fathers drafted for the new country all while exploring high definition scans of the original document.
  • The U.S. Constitution – View all the articles and amendments through the digital scans of the original U.S. Constitution. Explore how our government is structured, the rights of the people, and how the government has evolved over the course of our history.
  • The Bill of Rights – Learn about the first ten Amendments to the Constitution which lays out Americans’ rights in relation to their government. This document guarantees civil rights and liberties for Americans and our interactive scan of The Bill of Rights can be explored to learn about these rights as granted by the Constitution.
